ANNUAL DAIRY LEADERS LUNCHEON EXPLORES GLOBAL TRADE

 Australia’s key industry representatives come together this Thursday, 1 February for the Gardiner Dairy Foundation annual Dairy Leaders Luncheon.  

International keynote speaker Michael Every, Head of Financial Markets Research Asia-Pacific, Rabobank will share his insights with a unique and engaging presentation titled The Great Game of Global Trade.

Last year, attendees were challenged to question how technology can revolutionise Australia’s dairy industry. This year, Michael plans to expand the minds of guests by delivering a big picture view to global trade, exploring a historical approach using the elements of game theory.   

Based in Hong Kong, Michael analyses major developments in the Asia-Pacific region and contributes to Rabobank’s various economic research publications for internal and external customers and media.

Interim CEO of the Gardiner Dairy Foundation, Dr Clive Noble, said that understanding the elements of global trade will assist the for development of a long and bright future for the dairy industry.

“Australian dairy famers’ are among the most efficient in the world, trading substantial volumes of dairy products to the global market.

 “It is imperative that we recognise the economic, social and political elements of global trade and the implications each can have to the future of dairy trade.

 “Understanding each element is the key to success in remaining efficient in the exchange of capital goods in the fiercely competitive economy that is reshaping the world and the  dairy industry,” said Dr Noble.

Michael has impressed crowds with his in-depth and engaging presentations around the world. Before Rabobank, Michael was a Director at Silk Road Associates, a strategy consultancy based in Bangkok. Prior to this, he was Senior Economist and Fixed Income Strategist at the Royal Bank of Canada based in both London and Sydney. Michael was also a former Economist for Dun & Bradstreet in London, covering ASEAN.

The 2018 Dairy Leaders Luncheon will take place on Thursday, 1 February at Queens Hall, Parliament House and will host Victoria’s emerging and established dairy industry leaders.
