Areas of support
Our funding supports development activities to improve productivity and profitability, Post-farm Gate.
Dairy manufacturers have articulated a need for attracting a higher number of technically skilled young people to consider a career in dairy. A majority of the desired skills fall within the discipline of engineering and information technology. The stimulation of interest among young engineers must be actively pursued to ensure that the industry has the skills and ability to compete in global markets.
Our investment approach
The Monash Industry Team Initiative (MITI) is a significant component of the Gardiner Dairy Foundations Post-farm Gate RD&E investment strategy. The three month MITI program exposes high achieving graduate and post graduate students from Monash University to dairy industry real world challenges and gives the industry the benefit of bright young minds to design new solutions to their real-world challenges.
In 2015, the partnership between Monash University and industry received a BHERT Award for Outstanding Excellence in Collaboration.
