The Gardiner Dairy Foundation encourages aspiring Victorian dairy leaders to apply for its Nuffield Scholarship with applications now open for the program’s 2019 intake.

Applications to the scholarship are open to Victorian dairy producers, who are interested in studying cutting-edge global agriculture, including an exciting and unique opportunity to tour overseas for 16 weeks.

Scholars will be challenged to research topics that add value to the Victorian dairy industry and will benefit from becoming members of the Nuffield alumni, engaging more than 1,500 members globally.

Gardiner Dairy Foundation Chief Executive Officer, Dr Clive Noble, said that strengthening the knowledge, experience and networks of current and future leaders was important for a stronger dairy industry.

“Gardiner supports the Nuffield Scholarships program to provide forward-thinking individuals with an opportunity to explore best practice in agriculture globally, then share their findings with the local industry on their return,” said Dr Noble.

Shannon Notter, the successful 2018 Nuffield Scholarship recipient, manages her family’s seasonal calving dairy farm outside of Colac, encourages any aspiring dairy leaders to apply.

“The Gardiner Dairy Foundation has been extremely supportive and the team has gone the extra mile to provide me an opportunity of a lifetime through the Nuffield Scholarship.

“The experience has been highly valuable both professionally and personally, providing me with an opportunity to travel all over the world and to gain a global perspective, shape new thinking and build an international network.”

Applications for the 2019 Nuffield Scholarships close on Friday, 15 June 2018. For more information, visit http://nuffield.com.au/
