The Gardiner Dairy Foundation has awarded five scholarships to provide Victorian dairy farmers with business management and leadership development opportunities.

The scholarships are funded by the Gardiner Dairy Foundation in partnership with Victorian Dairy Industry Regional Development Programs. They offer places in the Rabobank Executive Development Program and the Australian Owner Management Program.

Gardiner Dairy Foundation Chief Executive Officer, Dr Clive Noble, said the aim of the scholarships is to encourage and support dairy farmers who plan to contribute to advancing the industry, as well as improving their own business management skills.

“Dairy farm efficiency and profitability is critical to long-term sustainability of the industry, and both industry leadership and business management have been identified as areas with significant opportunities for development.

“The Gardiner Dairy Foundation is committed to investing in emerging leaders. Over the past three years we have supported almost 30 dairy farmers to develop their management and leadership skills through these scholarships,” said Dr Noble.

The successful 2018 scholarship recipients are as follows:

“I’d like to thank the Gardiner Dairy Foundation for the opportunity to undertake the scholarship and I’d definitely encourage other Victorian dairy farmers wanting to improve their skills to apply for Gardiner Dairy Foundation scholarships.”
