In early February, Gardiner Dairy Foundation joined the Foundation for Rural and Regional renewal (FRRR) to deliver workshops on how to successfully apply for community grants. We visited the communities of Warragul, Colac and Tallangatta.

Whilst in the regions, we also spoke with past grant recipients. One of the groups visited was the Kawarren Recreation Reserve. received a 2015 Gardiner Dairy Foundation Community Grant. In 2015 they received a grant to construct a play space for families with young children. During our visit we met with one of the volunteers who showed us the play equipment which blends and complements Kawarren Reserves bush setting by incorporating local rocks, logs and sand donated by community members.

Another group visited was Moyhu and District Pre-School. In 2015, they also received a grant to install a shade sail over outside play equipment. The preschool was then able to leverage that money to get an additional 70c/$ to complete the project.
