Are you a dairy innovator? Australia’s premier dairy event is seeking innovative ideas, research projects and scientific-based outcomes to enhance Australia’s dairy industry.
Australian Dairy Conference (ADC) has opened applications for a new dairy innovation competition the ‘ADC Innovators Award’ sponsored by the Gardiner Foundation to uncover and explore the best of dairy innovation across the country.
An adaptation of the former ‘ADC Young Dairy Scientist Award’, ADC has adapted the competition to open opportunities beyond the pure research field, extending the same opportunity to all those making a difference across Australia’s dairy industry.
ADC President and NSW dairy farmer Rose Philipzen said that the dairy industry has significant notoriety for being early-adopters and trialling new science, innovation and research and as a result, is seeking to put the spotlight on progressive projects around the country.
“There are a plethora of innovations, ideas, concepts and trials that are impacting the way we operate or have the potential to enhance dairy systems and operations in a myriad of ways. ADC is encouraging individuals, organisations and research bodies to showcase their work via the ADC Innovators Award,” she said.
“Previously the focus has been more towards emerging works and research studies via tertiary institutions. ADC is broadening the competition to include new technologies and practices, demonstration projects, on-farm trials and commercial applications.”
“Projects are required to be evidence-based and underpinned by scientific principles, but we have opened up the scope to be able to profile a greater breadth of activity that is happening within the dairy sector,” said Rose.
“The ADC Innovators Award is an incredible opportunity to put your innovation in front of the best in Australian dairy at ADC 2025 on the Gold Coast with the ability to advance your career, project and ideas,” she said.
Gardiner Foundation CEO Allan Cameron said, “Gardiner Foundation is excited by the adaptation of the ‘Young Dairy Scientist Award’ to the ‘ADC Innovators Award’ and is proud to be sponsoring this award to recognise the endeavour and honouring the achievements of people in dairy. Dairy as an industry is an early adopter of innovative science and technologies. This is a great opportunity for young innovators to step forward and showcase their wares.”
Applications for the ADC Innovators Award open today and close on 31 October 2024.
Shortlisted finalists will be notified mid-November with finalists attending ADC 2025 on the Gold Coast 12-14 February 2025.
